Migrants are the ones who determine what capital cities throughout the world look like. The multicultural city of Moscow is no exception to that rule. Migrants used to set a tone in Muscovite culture to the same extent as they did it in New York. This can be seen in urban toponyms such as Armyansky Lane or Bolshaya and Malaya Gruzinskaya Streets. Research projects and interactive installations displayed at this multimedia exhibition of contemporary art and dedicated to life stories of Moscow residents provide a remarkable insight into traces of migration in Moscow’s urban life.
