This exhibition on the huge city of Moscow displays artifacts ranging from ancient weapons, medieval treasures and Patriarch Nikon’s bells to present-day items. The Museum of Moscow was founded two centuries ago (in 1896), yet it looks very modern. The multifunctional exhibition space focused on Moscow’s past and present displays historical canvasses (as an example, views of Moscow by Russian painter A. Vasnetsov), ancient documents (maps dating to 16th-20th centuries) and state-of-the-art multimedia.© 2016-2019 moscovery.com
