Moscow’s Garage Museum displays over 80 items from the original exhibition of Belgian poet and sculptor Marcel Broodthaers. Models of this awkward painter are assemblies of objects in unconventional combinations centred round the ready/found topic. As an example, Broodthaers was fond of combining into one whole furniture, clothing, household items, occasionally accompanying them with texts. Though ironical, his surreal plots carry a hidden meaning and draw the public’s attention, although they often require the guide’s explanations.© 2016-2020 moscovery.com
