The gala concert in the Kremlin will bring together best Russian ballet dancers to celebrate the anniversary of Andris Liepa. His colleagues will honor the hero of the day by performing wonderful ballet dances from popular productions. Andris Liepa was a worthy successor to his father, the idol of ballet Maris Liepa. Much to his fans’ distress, Andris had to say farewell to his ballet career at the age of 36,after a trauma. However, in his 15 years on stage, he had starred in Bolshoi and Maly Theatres and had also given performances in George Balanchine’s New York City Ballet.
