Graphic art is not usually seen as a public technique, being more like a sketch art for “internal use”. However, its “underground laboratory” property is what ensures theartist’s fresh look, depth of search and freedom of expression. This art shows us familiar painters from an unusual perspective and unveils new facets of these “unknown” artists. The exhibition introduces visitors to drawings and watercolors of the generation of Peredvizhniki. Among rarely exhibited 19th-century artworks, Kramskoi’s color experiments and Levitan’s sepia drawings will be of special interest to art lovers.© 2016-2019 moscovery.com
